Trivia Answer

Here was the Q from Friday afternoon:

1) Gold Glove shortstop Cesar Izturis returned to the regular lineup last night, albeit at third base. It was his first, and the first for a Dodger since Charles Johnson in 1998. Who has won the most Gold Glove Awards as a Dodger? What position did he play?

2) Having broken in with the Blue in 1999, Eric Gagne is currently the longest-tenured Dodger. That's turnover, people. But he's got a long way to go before catching the guys who played the longest with the franchise. Who are they, and how many seasons were they Dodgers?

As Lolo correctly pointed out, the answer to No. 1 is 1B Wes Parker, who took home the hardware six consecutive times between 1967 and 1972. All the more impressive considering he only played nine years. Dude could pick it.

No. 2? It's a tie, at 18 seasons each for HOFer Zach Wheat (1909-28) and Bill Russell (1969-1986).

Thanks for playing.

Did anybody see this? HILARIOUS baseball clip. Its a clip on ESPN of a manager from some minor league team just going nuts on the umpires . . . absolutely classic. Here's the link to the ESPN article, you can watch the video from it. Enjoy

Whoa!! I thought he only had one it 4-5 times. Six? Wow, that's impressive!! Six in a row!

Bill Russell? You have got to be kidding me!! HAHA!!

Michael Teniente

Now the Dodgers in the 1st inning have Billingsley pitching. With 2 on and 1 out, the count is 3 and 2. Billingsley then throws that crazy pitch way outside to walk the batter. Who's fault is that? Is it Billingsley for throwing such a stupid pitch or Russell for calling it? Tori Hunter missed a grand slam and hit into a double play. Billingsley or Russell is lucky to get out of that 1st inning.

Dodger Fan,

Yeah, I saw it on SportsCenter...

It is the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time. Even better than the Connie Chung clip on "youtube", HAHA!!

That manager's show has got to be the biggest tirade in the history of sports. Lou and Bobby ain't got nuthin' on that guy!!!

LoLo

Now Now, Mike,

I thought you weren’t going to blame Martin, OR give him credit. Sounds to me like you are blaming him, yet I didn’t hear you give him credit over the weekend (even if it was against the Pirates, HAHA!!).

Bills walked 7 tonight. I think it’s safe to say that Martin wasn’t calling for balls off the plate on a 3-ball count. So is there a slight possibility that the crazy pitch Bills threw was his miss and not the catcher’s fault?? Just asking, HAHA!!

Anyways, we got spanked tonight, through and through. Now we got Liriano (2.17 ERA) AND Santana pitching against us the next two games. Thank you sir may I have another!!! (“Taps” playing in the background).
