A Little Live Blog Before Mondays Are Lost to Football
Unless you find preseason football incredibly riveting, you probably have a little spare time tonight for the semipatented Blue Notes live blog. It's a 7:10 start at the Ravine. Be there, or be square.

You guys are all wrong. It is so riveting to watch ESPN or FOX attempt to drum up interest in meaningless games with inane "inside" stories about the NFL. At least by not having an NFL team (actually, thankfully) we're spared some portion of that garbage.
I laughed and cried when I heard some reporter mention that a carry was Reggie Bush's first in the NFL. Kind of like a hit in spring training. Don't think that's going in a record book.
I really like football, but the hype machine turns me off something fierce. In the meantime, we're in the final 30 games of MLB. Cover something that counts.

At the beginning of August the Dodgers swept the Reds in Cincy, three games into the hot streak. Cincinnati has been hot/cold, tied AK/BK's Cards briefly a few days ago, then lost 3 of 4 to the giants. Anything can happen.
I don't like facing a rookie pitcher, although he's been up for a bit. Brings back memories of Tim Stauffer.
On the bright side, we do get to see Will Ferrell/Adam Dunn again. Hopefully he won't bomb a few.

Anyone know the over/under on Penny's meltdown? What inning?
How many pitches by the 5th? I say if he gets through the 3rd under 45 then he'll make it 7+. It just seems to me the first few innings definitely frame his mindset for the entire game. Sorta is begining to remind me of Odalis Dumbarse the way he has been melting down due to calls/errors/sun spots...
Here's to him getting a grip and making it though the 8th...!!!
