Nothing pisses me off more in this world than the GNats and their flaming fans. I'd like to take a dump right on the mound at (Enter your favorite cell phone company) Park.

unfortunately we were unable to do anything with it. why couldn't we play the rockies for 162 games. can you image how many offensive record we can break.
I hate to admit it (on a Dodgers blog, at least. haha), but the Giants play in the greatest stadium I've ever watched baseball in. Granted, I've only sat in about five, but it's incredible. Fantastic sight lines. Cool design. Awesome view with the water behind you. Right in the heart of a great city.
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Chavez. Sentiment aside, I fully admit it smokes my beloved old Busch. But SBC is pretty freaking cool.
"What might surprise a lot of people is that there is no official method of scoring balls and strikes, just as there is no official way to publish a box score. You won't find anything in chapter 10 of the official rules on box score formats or ball-strike tabulations. There is no official method, but for both box scores and pitch scoring there is a customary, standard way of doing things.
Under the standard, swinging strikes, called strikes, foul balls on full counts, and balls in play are counted as Strikes. All balls, including those thrown for pitchouts and intentional walks, are counted as Balls. As strikes are recorded now, a called third strike is no different than a 500-foot homer. An intentional ball is no different than a wild pitch."
This is where Nomar's physical state hurts us a bit. I am willing to bet that Little would prefer to pinch hit Loney over Kemp right now but can't because he needs to keep Loney as a replacement option for Nomar in case he has to come out.

REPKO WOULD HAVE CAUGHT IT -- BUT HE WOULD HAVE THEN CRASHED THROUGH THE WALL, THROUGH THE BRICKS, OVER THE RAIL, AND THEN INTO THE COVE WHERE HE WOULD HAVE DROWN.
what the hech is an olique anyway, and why was this injury absolutely unheard of, at least to these ears, before this year? -we need Nomar, he's kind of becoming the
Dodger's identity; i don't know man----hey by the way, this may be an inherently pessimistic question, but we have to travel all the way to Philly if a playoff is needed, right? It's not the other way around?
i'm telling you; this dodgers team seems to have magic on their side; they remind me most of the Red Sox in 04 and the Marlins in 03---
two unlikely champions....
I posted last Monday about the Dodgers Heart and how the so-called "critics" were ignoring this huge factor. Everybody except the loyals were counting the Blue Crew out!
A great game and a great win. It was nice to see Saenz come through with a big hit. He's been a good player for LA and he's the type of veteran hitter who might be able to get some big hits for the Dodgers in the playoffs. Kudos to Drew for his 7th inning bomb and to the bullpen for its fine work as well.
What a great comeback...I'm a Dodger fan up in Giant country and I can't wait to see my Giant friends tomorrow!!! 2 more wins and we have the West...I guarantee one more Padre loss!!! GO BLUE
After every big win I can't help but mimic Kirk Gibson's speech that he'd recite after big wins..."How sweet it is to taste the fruits of victory!!!!" (of course the kids kind of look at me funny--they don't get the whole sports-passion & tradition thing) One more win baby...and then the real fun begins!!!
I was at Thursday's game at Coors Field -- actually made it to most of all three games in Denver (I live there). Yesterday's was a throwback game -- all the way back to the pre-humidor years here. Definitely one of the weirdest games I've ever attended.
Here's something to chew on -- despite this year's Dodger team not hitting a ton of HRs (actually they're up to 152 now, I believe, which is a decently respectable total), your 2006 Dodgers are the first Dodger club since 1962 to score at least 800 runs.
Look it up....not since the first year of Dodger Stadium have the Dodgers scored this many runs in a season. That's pretty impressive. This bunch has scored more than all of the homer-happy teams we had in the Davey Johnson and Lasorda years.

Orel,
Heck NO! As long as Nomar can swing effectivley I say let him bat.
Posted by: LoLo | September 29, 2006 at 09:27 PM
Orel-
Yes. Yes we are. You'd be surprised how reasonable PSLs are on this site, too. hahaha.
Lolo-
There are those who will offer you plenty of stuff if they think you'll get them some ink in one form or another.

REPKO WOULD HAVE CAUGHT IT -- BUT HE WOULD HAVE THEN CRASHED THROUGH THE WALL, THROUGH THE BRICKS, OVER THE RAIL, AND THEN INTO THE COVE WHERE HE WOULD HAVE DROWN.
Posted by: Orel Fixation | September 29, 2006 at 09:40 PM
what the hech is an olique anyway, and why was this injury absolutely unheard of, at least to these ears, before this year? -we need Nomar, he's kind of becoming the
Dodger's identity; i don't know man----hey by the way, this may be an inherently pessimistic question, but we have to travel all the way to Philly if a playoff is needed, right? It's not the other way around?
Posted by: 10milliondollarzen | September 29, 2006 at 09:41 PM

THE LOWRIDER, YES!
Posted by: Jim | September 29, 2006 at 10:22 PM
A great game and a great win. It was nice to see Saenz come through with a big hit. He's been a good player for LA and he's the type of veteran hitter who might be able to get some big hits for the Dodgers in the playoffs. Kudos to Drew for his 7th inning bomb and to the bullpen for its fine work as well.
Posted by: Tim H | September 29, 2006 at 10:26 PM
NICE TEAM WIN.
Posted by: Jim | September 29, 2006 at 10:28 PM
I HOPE WE WIN THE WEST AND GET THE CARDINALS AT HOME TO START THE PLAYOFFS. WHAT IRONY! WIN OR LOSE I WANT ANOTHER SHOT AT THOSE GUYS.
Posted by: Jim | September 29, 2006 at 10:31 PM
What a great comeback...I'm a Dodger fan up in Giant country and I can't wait to see my Giant friends tomorrow!!! 2 more wins and we have the West...I guarantee one more Padre loss!!! GO BLUE
Posted by: 2roo blu | September 29, 2006 at 10:46 PM
After every big win I can't help but mimic Kirk Gibson's speech that he'd recite after big wins..."How sweet it is to taste the fruits of victory!!!!" (of course the kids kind of look at me funny--they don't get the whole sports-passion & tradition thing) One more win baby...and then the real fun begins!!!
Posted by: dodgerskip | September 29, 2006 at 10:55 PM
Great win tonight!
Posted by: RC | September 29, 2006 at 11:13 PM
Started by Drew, extended by Saenz too, closed by Say-It-Too = Dodger Victory.
Nomah is hurtin' but Loney is playin' as long they don't play that Looney pitcher, the Dodger will come out as winner.
