No Time For Losers

'Cause the Dodgers are the Champions.  Of what is yet to be determined, but Saturday afternoon's 4-2 win over the hated Giants put the Dodgers in the postseason, and gave fans what I'm sure will be the incredibly satisfying and lasting image of their boys celebrating on San Francisco's home turf.

Enjoy your Saturday night.

Are the Trojans going to pull this one out.

Congrats, everyone!
sorry OREL was AWOL today!
stargazin, you were right. i went from the football field to the baseball field today. i was actually in the kids' dugout, listening to espn radio am 1000 when we clinched the playoff spot.
guess it was appropriate.
a few weeks ago i would have been just happy to get into the playoffs, but you know what? when i look at this road ahead? we can actually get into the world series if we take care of business.
but for now? congratulations to all of you! thanks BK/AK for the great blog today.
stargazin: get ready for PLAYOFFFFFFFFFFF BASEBALL!!
now ... where did i put that bottle of champagne?

I am predicting a Dodger-Padre NLCS.

JD Drew has been the unsung hero of September. And he has 100 RBIs for the first time in his career.

Ned Colletti: Please bring back Maddux and Nomar for 2007.

The last day of the baseball season is always kind of sad. The season is so long that when it finally ends it seems like the time flew by. Did they really play 162 games?

And the most unforgettable moment of the year has to be September 18, tying the Padres in the bottom of the 9th with 4 straight HRs, and having to come back again in the bottom of the 10th, winning the game on Nomars walk-off HR. Every time I see it replayed on TV I get a lump in my throat.

2006 has been an amazing year and it is not over yet !!

You gotta feel a little bad for the Angels. They could finish the season with 90 wins if they win their last game tomorrow. But in the AL 90 wins only gives them the fifth best record in the league.
Compare that to the NL where only one team will finish the year with 90 wins. Tough luck, anaheim.

Whatever happens in the Division, Dodgers are now part of the Magic 8. The Journey to World Series start with the right pichers and hot hitters. Just continue what you are all doing, the Dodgers will keep on playing onward.

Don't forget to thank that Big Dodger in the Sky, somehow former GM Campanis lobbied for Dodger's fate, it's time now to play ball and keep that streak on to Halloween. It would be pure gravy if LA will celebrate a baseball parade before the end of October. Good Luck!

Considering how poorly the Cardinals have played and how the pitching situation is turning out in New York, it looks very possible that the Dodgers can be the AL's sacrificial lamb in the World Series.

I CAN'T BELIEVE LITTLE GOT US TO THE PROMISED LAND! AMAZING!

After all the emotional ups and downs that the BLUE put us through this year...I will forgive them for all of it because the boys are going to the PLAYOFFS!

I bickered at Depo last year, and was ecstatic when we parted ways with the whiz kid.

I was hopeful when we hired some dude named Ned.

I was grateful when we turned to a all-around grounded, level-headed, easy going guy to lead the team.

I questioned Coletti when his first move was to allocate a bunch of $ to a Shortstop, even when we already had a good one in Izturis. Sure, Izzy wasn't returning for another 4-6 weeks, but why couldn't just use a stop-gap for the time being? I figured he was going be traded.

IMO, the No-MAH signing and addition of other solid players (Mueller, Tomko, etc), meant the new management team was for real. This was going to bring us back to respectability...or at least a winning record.

The next month was full of anticipation to see our new team on the field.

I was shocked when we made the Navarro/Martin decision so early. Who was this Mark Hendrickson fella? Would he be the second coming of Randy Johnson, or would we regret sending Dioner away?

I was devastated when we lost Gagne again. Is his Dodger career over? NOOOOO!! That bastard!

I was upbeat at the all-star game b/c Penny was smoking the ball past hitters and the Dodgers looked to be in prime position to win the West.

That feeling made a U-turn about the 8th or 9th game into the nasty 1-13 streak. JD Drew worried began to worry me. We were running full speed backwards, and I prayed for something to stop it.

Boy did something stop it. Nothing like a 17-1 stretch to turn a season around! AND we get Mad Dog in the process. Brilliant!

I was mad when we couldn't hold on to the NL lead by dropping games against lowly teams like the Brews and Cubs.

My anger reached its peak when we were down 4 runs to the Padres heading into the ninth inning. I was brushing my teeth when Kent hit one out. I missed JD's HR, but jumped out of my seat for each of the next two HRs. I jumped out of my chair again when Furcal went warning-track to end the ninth. WHOOOO! That was awesome. But were the boys in it just to break our hearts again? Enter No-MAHH!

I was mad again when we followed the Pads game by losing two to Jim Tracy et al.

I missed the walkoff Grand Salami later in the week. Had to watch the replay on ESPN.

But I didn't miss the clincher yesterday, though! CONGRATS TO ALL!!

...Let's continue to stand by our Dodgers through October. Every game, every pitch, every run scored, will be celebrated. It's playoff time! Let's go Bloggers! Let's go Dodgers!

Congrats to all the players, coaches, and especially all of the fans! Playoffs baby!!! Bring on the Mets!

What do you guys think of these?....

Vince,

So long as there is blue in there, it's beautiful.
