Bleed Blue Until Death Do You Part (and a Question of the Day)
Over the first season of Blue Notes, it became very clear that the Dodgers are blessed with a vast number of passionate die hard fans. But here's a question. For those of you who are die hards, when you actually die, would you like to meet the afterlife in one of these? Bleed Blue, Decompose Blue. That's the spirit!
Question 2: In the spirit of all those Tommy Lasorda ads where he encourages fans of teams that have been eliminated to continue watching the playoffs (I particularly like the one where he coaxes the Cubs fan out of the tree), are you guys still into it? I mean, Game 7 tonight in New York? A potential Cinderella vs. Cinderella World Series in Detroit against St. Louis? The big bad Mets against the upstart Tigers if things don't go my way?
Are you still watching, or did you quickly switch into football/Lakers/Clippers/etc. mode once the Blue were swept?
BK

I still watch parts of the games, but I'll be honest, if a Laker preseason game is on, I'm going to watch it over a mets-cardinals game. The pitching for these teams is not good, Pujols is semi injured and Greenie and Lo Duca said "F*** the Dodgers" so I can't even look at them right now. I'll probably watch more of the WS because the Tiger pitching is pretty sweet (verlander, zumaya, "semi crazy still, but not so crazy to the point where he can't pitch effectively" Kenny Rogers).

I would have switched to laker-mode, if they had something worth watching. With Kobe, Kwame, Cook and Mihm out, and guys like Pinnock and Devin Green getting big minutes, there really isn't much to watch (or even look forward to) right now. Another LONG basketball season, with even more people flocking onto the Clipper bandwagon...whoopdee-do.
My only hope now is that you would keep updating this blog with more dodger news and notes.

I've already switched the wallpaper on my phone from Dodgers to Lakers, as well as all my avatars, however, I've still been watching about half the games. I'm rooting for Detroit to win it all since I don't want St. Louis to get another ring and I hate anything New York . . .

I'm watching - I always try to find a team that has an aspect I like and root for them the rest of the way. Now I'm hoping the Mets get whooped on tonight (because I am now an official Mets hater). It does pose a problem, though, because then I won't know whom to root for in the series. Both of them, I'd be happy to see win. If the Mets win, I'll know exactly who should win.
I am watching football too, as a longtime die hard Bears fan. I've been bleeding blue much longer than I've been a Dodger fan, but the baseball is definitely higher on my list than football. My Bears though, they could have a season that rivals '85 - if both of my teams had a championship 2007, that would be sweet.

It took me a few days but I am still watching. I am definitely pulling for the Cards in that they have been 'in it' enough the last years that it seems that they (especially Puljos) deserve to win one. Having said that, seeing the same team in the LCS year in and year out begins to get a bit boring (my feelings seem to be mirrored by Cardinals fans who exuded that 'been there, done that' energy in the worst way!).
My other reason for pulling for the Cards? F**K the Mets!
Nuff said!

the baseball season is such a long grind, 162 games and then some; so when you're team loses- you're pretty hung over and uninspired. So you take a couple days, but I watched the end of game 5 of the mets/cards and watched most of last night's game. And game7's are always worth watching; tonight's is unpredicitable -I'll certainly be watching-(well, actually tivo-ing)-----

I'm watching too, for the same reason other Dodger fans have mentioned above... to see the Mets LOSE! I used to still like Lo Duca and Green. But now, NO WAY! I hope Shawn Green and the Mets go DOWN!

While I did watch the ALCS, I just can't watch the NLCS. It's like watching a softball game. The pitching is horrible! Jeff Weaver got a win for heaven's sake!!! I will watch the World Series because at least one of the teams will be good.

Yes, totally still watching.
I've been rooting for the Cardinals
(hate Mets now). For the WS, I'll be rooting
for the Tigers. I normally go for NL over
AL, but my husband is from the Detroit area,
so we gotta root for them. If the Mets
make it to the WS tonight, I hope the
Tigers sweep them.

Definately still watching as I love baseball and hey, after the playoffs and series, we're done till Feb. Also, got to root for the Cards since I've never liked the Mets, F**k LoDuca, and AK/BK did such a great job on the blog this year so that kind of makes the Cards our second favorite team. Generally it is really good fundamental baseball as these teams did not get this far by sheer luck.

Still watching, but having nightmares doing so. I see Reyes at the plate and think Furcal is just as good. I watch Loduca get a key hit and think Russell Martin will be doing that for the Dodgers someday. I see the collection of stiffs the Mets are sending out and think that the LA staff has to be better. Then I pinch myself and realize that we haven't won a playoff series since six years before my oldest child was born. Maybe I ought to just turn the game off and go read a book.

great game 7 tonight; congrats ak/bk------that's why people should still watch baseball once there team is done---it was riveting stuff....

It's hard to watch and really feel anything. Without the emotional investment of your team playing, watching two other teams play doesn't fire my competitive juices at all. I could care less who wins.
I am looking forward to next year and I hope Coletti works some pitching and power magic!
I really enjoyed blogging with all you guys this season. It was a blast!

Yeah,
Turns out that finding this blog and bantering with you all was the best part of the season. Making the playoffs was really great but we didn't even make a splash unless you consider the huge belly flop that Kent and Drew pulled off in game 1.

I quickly shifted into Lakers mode as soon as the final out was recorded. Im excited to see my boy Farmar step it up for the Purple and Gold this year, and so far in the preseason I have liked what I've seen.

Still watching. I need my fix of baseball and when the season is over, I turn to the Hot Stove looking for any rumors out there. I also tape a few games that can hold me till Spring and I also have my collection of baseball books and baseball movies. I am looking for a movie "The Winning Team" with Ronald Reagan. -Emma
