Juanderful

I think it's fair to say that when Juan Pierre has four extra base hits, his team is going to win.  That kind of thing just doesn't happen very often.  As in, never, before tonight, when Pierre ripped a triple and three doubles in five ABs as the Dodgers cruised to a 10-0 win over the Nationals in Washington Tuesday night.  As you might glean from the score, it was a rock solid night all around for the Blue.  6 1/3 shutout innings from Brad Penny (7-1).  A three run jack from Luis Gonzalez.  Three hits, two RBI for Nomar, two hits and two runs scored for Tony Abreu.  Yhency Brazoban lowering his ERA to a more manageable 16.20 with a perfect 2/3 of an inning.  RFK is a football stadium, and the Dodgers hung a nice football number on the scoreboard.  Solid.

More on the game in the morning.

who was that guy in centerfield today??!!!! if he could get on base like that more often he would be worth the money he is getting paid. Where is the guy that had over 200 hits and over 50 stolen bases last year??!! Its the guy we saw today. I know as dodger fans we are supposed to be above giant bashing but the game today was great!!!!! i dont see those giant fans on this forum anymore because their team sucks!!!!!! Not even the third best team in the division, good thing they didnt overpay for the barry's!!!!!!!

Great game by Penny except for running the bases, How could you not score from second on a deep hit to left or on Pierre's "double" in the corner...well I can give him that one he did go two bases then ran out of gas but he stopped Pierre from having 2 triples and 2 doubles and stole an RBI.
It was good to see the guys other than Martin carry the team and string so hits together.
it almost seemed as if Pierre was more at home and relaxed in the spacious center field of RFK stadium then I've ever seen him before. Was it getting the first triple that did it or knowing that he wouldn't run into anyone while playing the field that made him relax and that carried over to the plate?
