I screwed up!
UPDATE (10-24 9:15 pm): The good news is that Jason Repko's balky hammy held up through a week of instructional league play. The bad news? His left ankle, which has also caused him considerable trouble, didn't. Repko thinks he'll still be good to go for spring training. From there, if you have more questions, feel free to ask me or Ken Gurnick.
Earlier I had a link up about how Dave Jauss was headed to Pittsburgh. Apparently, it's not actually true. I got a call from Dylan Hernandez, who says he's spoken to Jauss and the Dodgers bench coach says he hasn't spoken to anyone in Steel Town about any position there. "I have not spoken to the Pittsburgh Pirates about any position. I am the bench coach for Grady Little," Jauss said. "Absolutely nothing's changed. It's absolutely erroneous coverage."
So there you go. Sorry about the mix-up.
Still, there is potential for turnover in the coaching staff. Perhaps it's something we'll talk about on today's edition of "Purple, Gold and Blue," which you can hear at noon by clicking on the show widget on the right side of the page. We'll probably start off with Lakers talk (they are, after all, in season), but I promise we'll get to the Blue, too.

Now I get it!!! Based on the news from the Dodgers recently, it was the training staff's problem that they played so poorly. Although I appreciate a shake-up in an area where injuries seemed to be an issue, I hope that is not the only response to the dramatic fall-off from July on. Time will tell.

With injuries being an obvious problem in '06, I'm surprised this kind of attention wasn't given to this issue last season.
I guess it has their attention now...
Hopefully this will help. If pitchers making umpteen millions can't manage to stretch on their own, maybe these changes will get them do it. All players have a responsibility to do whatever they can to stay healthy. I can't help notice how many good pitchers are overweight in MLB. It's hard to believe they can get away with it.
I know linemen in football need to be fat to a point for the bulk they need to do that kind of job. Do pitchers need to be fat to throw the ball better?

Ah Steve, you beat me to it.
My heart really wants this. My head says Colletti won't be this smart.
If we have Joe Girardi managing the Dodgers next year, why the team would actually be competent on and off the field.
Christmas is coming up. Maybe Santa McCourt will spring for an early present. Let's hope.
