Audio leftovers, worth reheating

Hey y'all. We have a few more pieces of audio left from mini-camp that were accidentally overlooked in the posting order, but they're definitely worth a listen.  First, uber-prospect Clayton Kershaw, then Andy LaRoche and James MacDonald.  Only one (LaRoche) is likely to start with the big club, but all three are worth a listen.  I think Dodgers fans will be encouraged by the approach both Kershaw and MacDonald have, despite their youth.  I had met Kershaw before, and knew he was a good kid with his head on straight.  It was my first time speaking with MacDonald, and I was impressed by his desire to improve and willingness to listen and internalize instruction.

Anyway, enjoy.

Thanks BK for the tapes, very interesting. Laroche sounds pumped-up and ready to go for the season; it looks like he has his back problems under control; I expect him to take over the 3b job and run with it.

If you have anymore audio like this please keep posting it. Its cool to hear the guys as normal people and how they feel about whats going on in the game. Instead of just reading or listening to what others have to say about them.

I'm afraid that's the last of it from the mini camp. But we'll generally always have audio whenever we get access to players, coaches, and management.

Thanks.

I was cruising thru a few bios over on "The BASEBALL Page" http://www.thebaseballpage.com/players/gibsoki01.php
and in looking over Kirk Gibson's, there was a quote from Sparky Anderson that I found amusing, as it sounds exactly like what is said of Juan Pierre.

"and in looking over Kirk Gibson's, there was a quote from Sparky Anderson that I found amusing, as it sounds exactly like what is said of Juan Pierre."

Bad comparison, Gibson may have had weak arm and missed games due to injuries but he was also a club house leader and here's his 1988 statline:

.290 with 25 home runs, 76 RBI, 106 runs scored, and 31 stolen bases in 35 attempts in 1988, earning NL MVP honors and helping the Dodgers win the NL pennant.

Brian

I was only making reference to what was said about Gibson's arm. NOBODY is a bigger fan of Gibson than myself....
