Helpful parking info for Saturday's Coliseum game

I think we're all excited about the Coliseum game, at least from the perspective of witnessing a unique game brimming with nostalgic appeal.  One thing I think we're all not particularly excited about?  Trying to fight 115,000 people for parking down there.  With that in mind, the Dodgers released some helpful info on that front- click below for the release.

DODGERS offer SEVERAL coliseum parking OPTIONS

Four Alternative Parking Plans Announced for Coliseum Game

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum have designed numerous parking options for the March 29 game it was announced today.  With an expected crowd of 115,000, the club has put an emphasis on Coliseum accessibility.

The Dodgers urge fans to abide by the following transportation recommendations: Carpool, exit the freeways early, arrive as early as possible, and allow extra time for congestion.

Dodger Stadium:

The Dodgers will be offering complimentary shuttle bus service from Dodger Stadium to the Coliseum. Shuttles will begin running at 11:00 a.m. and will continue running two hours after the game concludes.  The shuttle drop-off location is Exposition and Figueroa Street.  For shuttle service, enter Dodger Stadium through the Sunset/Elysian Park Gate.  While parking is free, fans are asked to make shuttle reservations by calling (323) 224-1507.  After the game, shuttles will be waiting to take you back to Dodger Stadium.

USC Campus:

Parking on the USC Campus will be available at five gates.  Lots open at 8 a.m. with each slot costing $25.

Gate 1 – Enter at Exposition Blvd. and Watt Way (just East of Menlo Blvd. on north side of Exposition Blvd.)

Gate 3 – Enter at Figueroa Blvd. and McCarthy Blvd. (across from Radisson Hotel on west side of Figueroa Blvd.)

Gate 4 – Enter at Jefferson and Royal (immediately East of Hoover on south side of Jefferson)

Gate 5 – Enter at Jefferson and McClintok (just East of Vermont on the south side of Jefferson Blvd.)

Gate 6 – Enter at Vermont and 36th Street (across the street from Togos on the east side of Vermont)

There are additional USC parking facilities at Grand Avenue and Jefferson, and Exposition and Flower.  For more information, as well as maps showing the available on-campus parking at USC, please log on to http://transnet.usc.edu.

Exposition Park:

Exposition Park, the area in which the Coliseum is housed, has limited parking and will most likely be filled early. It is strongly recommended that patrons park at Dodger Stadium or on the USC campus.  Lots open at 8 a.m. with each parking slot costing $25. Entrances to Exposition Park are located at Martin Luther King Blvd and Hoover, and 39th Street and Figueroa.

Metro:

LA Metro operates numerous local and express bus lines to the Exposition Park area. Local lines are: 40, 42, 81, 102, 200, 204, 381 and 550.  Rapid lines are: 740, 745 and 754.  For more information and bus schedules please log on to www.metro.net or call 1-800-COMMUTE.

As part of the celebration of their 50th anniversary in Los Angeles, the Dodgers will return to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for an exhibition game against the Red Sox on March 29. Net proceeds for the game will benefit ThinkCure, the official charity of the Los Angeles Dodgers. ThinkCure is dedicated to raising funds for critical cancer research and ultimately finding a cure for cancer. The exhibition game marks the return of the Dodgers to their original Los Angeles home where they played for four seasons, from 1958-1961.

It is going to be a huge mess. Its hard enough to park for a USC football game but baseball?? I won't be anywhere near that parking lot this weekend.

Good idea but parking and being near the Colosium at 10pm on a Saturday ngiht......no thanks

where is the rv parking for march 29

I still haven't figured out how we are going to arrive. I'm thinking Metro Rapid Line. I took the Metro Rail lines for five years and have mastered navigating through LA traffic. Here's my plan. I'm driving my personal vehicle to the Blue Line Slauson Station. I'm taking the Blue Line to the 7th. St. Red Line Station. I'm walking upstairs and will be in Downtown LA. I will then ask how to catch a bus towards USC. Voila, I'm there. Some may ask,"what are you going to do when the game is over?" I'm taking a bus towards downtown LA and hitting up Wylan's Bar until the traffic settles. Then heading back via the Blue Line to the Slauson Station. Rail Lines run until 2AM on weekends. I'll be with a crowd of twenty. Safety in numbers.
