Hopefully, the Dodgers didn't already meet their run quota for the season

Because man alive, a 20-6 win over the Cardinals represents a lotta dudes crossing the dish.  The dudes in questions, however, didn't include Andy LaRoche, who is still kinda jawdropped at the extent of the damage in his thumb.  While there is solace to be found in a healing process that involves a lot of "Grand Theft Auto," being on the shelf is a bummer for the kid.  Not to mention an inconvenience for his team, now forced to discuss a Plan B if the notion of Nomar full-time doesn't wow them.  Frankly, they're lucky not to be looking for replacements for both guys.   At any rate, kicking around hot corner options gives Joe Torre something to do when he's not keeping an eye on the sandbox to make sure everyone plays well with others.

Strong words from one Nolan Ryan about baseball and its culpability with the steroids issue.
