I believe the name at the bottom is the intriguing one...

Kershaw was just turned sideways while batting. Holy crap, is that a skinny kid. He's tall as it is, but when you look at him from than angle, he looks about 8'6".
Oh no, Kershaw isn't perfect. Time to bring up Repko!
The kid struggled, imagine that. But all the Dodgers do is win when he pitches. :-)
He reminds me-- in both appearance and ability to throw the Lord Charles--of a young and formerly talented Barry Zito. Let's hope his career is at least as good.
LOL Benzo...what no MLB viewing??? Well your in luck Here's my recap
Well the game started great 3 two out rbi’s by 3 different batters in the top of the first
But a no out 2 run hr gets the mets right back into the game…Kershaw left it hanging
It’s like Kershaw is afraid to pitch to reyes…he has walked him twice…then walks the based loaded and beltran hits a sac fly…tie game end of 3
Way to go Russ…Iron Man Martin hits a Bomb
Bottom of the 4th kershaw’s behind every batter first 3 have had base hits…5-2 1st out…dewitt bobbbled next ball to him 5UA….tie game 2 outs….walked the bases loaded again…end of game for Kershaw….Park pitching against wright…park behind but gets him 6-3…another no decision for the young man
Next 2 innings easy for both pitchers
Bases loaded 1 out and the ball hit off Park to Dewitt who had a shot at the plate but choose 1st 1-5-3 2 outs 5-4 mets…park k’s next batter
Gift call to Pierre for a single…Kemp doubles to RC field Pierre scores…Kent singles to RF almost got by the fielder Kemp scores…Hu runs for Kent…Loney singles to RF, almost hit Hu, Hu to 3rd…Martin singles to RF (4-4), Loney to 3rd, Hu scores…Wild pitch Loney scores, martin to 2nd…Ethier K’s for 1st out… Dewitt singles to CF…Martin hesitated then heads for home, dewitt gets caught in rundown so Martin scores….Maza out 3UA Dodgers 9-5
Sweeney automatic out in the top of the ninth
Sammy pitches the bottom of the 9th has a few wrinkles but gets out without a run
Kershaw just looked young tonight. His curveball was still nuts. And his fastball looked really fast. I think someone said it after his first start, and he's just got to learn as he goes, that a lot of strikeouts in the minors are foul balls in the majors. The Mets did that to him over and over, just fouled off his stuff... Which seemed to hurt his confidence, which drove him to throw outside and high... Which seemed to make him press harder and miss more...
Props to Torre for pulling him early. No reason to let him wreck his young arm.
How dare you! Sweeney is not an automatic out, as evidenced by his 4 for 43 "hitting". I'm so glad that Joe has gotten him more at bats here and there, or else Sweeney might has been rusty and struggled.
Thanks KT... I can't get dodgers via mlb, I'm blacked out for almost all the west coast teams in vegas... it's BS and MLB should be ashamed of themselves.
Benzo,
Especially since they are playing on the east coast...You should write your congressman and complain
Package,
Sorry my bust I forgot about all those hits he has...I should be flogged with a wet noodle....Maybe Joe should get him more at-bats...he's only leading the league in pinch hit appearances.

I think he is just like you. Feeling retired. Although I think you might have gotton more hits than he has. Is pinch hit appearances an important stat?

Just trying to understand, is there a plan behind these batting orders? A Cat In the Hat?

BTW, how old is Kershaw? I used to be skinny, too:(

What good are 95mph fastballs if you can't throw strikes.

Let;s not go overboard on the kid. He might wind up HOF but right now he is one of many potentila 'Star' pitchers in MLB.

I was watching the stick people tonight on gameday, and Kershaw's curve broke to my other monitor.

Well, that was an unexpected surprise. A win!
Maybe we could get another one soon...

Is anyone scared that Ned is actively looking for a backup infielder? Who will be this year's Julio Lugo/Shea Hillenbrand?
