Win one for mom

The Dodgers, who had previously been wielding brooms with authority, will look to avoid being swept themselves this afternoon by Houston, when Hiroki Kuroda takes the mound against Shawn Chacon for the Astros.  It won't happen without a little more production from the sticks.  The Blue have scored all of two runs in their last three games, including Saturday night's 5-0 shutout loss to the Astros, in which LA was shut down against a guy whose seven scoreless frames lowered his ERA to a still shoddy 6.27

Perhaps they can find inspiration from their mothers, as MLB again celebrates Mother's Day around the league.  Players will be breaking out the now traditional pink bats and wristbands in support of breast cancer research and awareness.

LINEUPS: Rafael Furcal is still out, Andre Ethier is back, Andruw Jones sits.  Perhaps it's to let Jones read his press clippings, first from his conversation on Saturday with TJ Simers, and also from Bill Shaikin, who investigates whether or not his decline, both in the plate and the field, could be the new reality rather than anything temporary.

Dodgers:

Pierre, LF
Ethier, RF
Kemp, CF
Loney, 1B
Martin, C
DeWitt, 3B
Young, 2B
Hu, SS
Kuroda, P

Astros:

Bourn, CF
Matsui, 2B
Tejada, SS
Berkman, 1B
Lee, LF
Pence, RF
Wiggington, 3B
Towles, C
Chacon, P

... exactly when does George Stephanopolis chime in on this conversation?

Higgins,
Good points and I agree to some of what you say and I did over exaggerate the fans booing. But I disagree with you when you say Jones is suppose to drive in runs because he is paid to. It isn't like the guy isn't trying?! Maybe it looks like it, (through his actions and words) but my contention was he is trying.. and trying too hard. The solution in my opinion is that fans don't stress over one guy's performance, especially if the team is winning. Let Andruw be Andruw (a loser) as you say and he just might break out of his mental downward spiral. Booing the guy will likely keep him in the funk which is bad for Jones and us, the fans. Plus, I feel that although he might be hurting the Dodgers w/ his bat (for the time being), he is doing a solid job on the field.

I feel the hurt of $15 parking too. And yes the money is used to pay Jones' salary. And yes the fans pay Jones salary w/ their hard earn money. But if you're Jones, you don't see the fans paying you. It's the Dodgers that are paying you and the fans are paying the Dodgers. I guess what I'm saying is if one worked at WalMart, the employee looks at Walmart as it's employer and not the customers... so although I agree the fans do pay, most pro athletics won't see it that way.

Also let me know if you're going to anymore games. I have some parking passes I can sell you at $7.00

You said it exactly the way i see it. The guy is a loser, and we don't boo everybody who tries and is in a slump. We boo people who don't seem to care and are obviously only in it for the go and $$.
