A few notes before the live blog

Jeff Kent was supposed to have the day off, but is back in the lineup today.  I didn't get to hear Torre talk, but my instinct is that after getting tossed last night, he may figure the second baseman got his rest.

Angel Berroa is now on the roster, but in a move that surprised the heck out of me, Chin-lung Hu (and Luis Maza, for that matter) are still on the team.  Terry Tiffee has been designated for assignment.  Lot of infielders and even fewer outfielders.  I did not see that decision coming at all.

As he's known for doing about once a season, Russell Martin has gone with the mustache look.  I haven't had a chance to talk to him about it, but I assume it's some kind of slump buster type thing (0-9 on this current homestand and 0 for the last dozen).  And for those of you watching the game on hi def, you might notice a little scruff under Joe Beimel's nose.  In what could very well be the best support I've seen a teammate give another, Beimel's got the beginnings of a stache going to help keep Martin from feeling alone.  But it may be gone by tomorrow.  There are limits, after all.

I watched about 15 minutes of American Gangster on Scott Proctor's lap top.  It was at least halfway into the flick with no sound (he was wearing headphones), but it looked pretty good.  I might rent it this weekend.
