Brief pregame report, anything but brief tech issues

For some reason, couldn't keep a steady wireless signal.  It's up and running now, but because of the struggles, I don't have time for much of a formal post.  But then again, not like a ton has changed or been newly discussed since I was here last night, so I don't feel like I'm keeping everyone out of the loop via "short but sweet."  But I do think it's worth noting that tonight will include a tribute to Dodger players of the 70s.  So in honor of folks like Ron Cey, Steve Garvey, Rick Monday, and the gang, I pay tribute to some of my favorite 70s icons.  In determining my selections, I'm citing people that may have done good stuff in the 60s or 80s, but, in my opinion, either did their best work in the 70s or are most commonly associated with that decade, accurately or not.

Favorite 70s baseball player: Lou Brock (I realize Brock kicked serious ass in the 60s, but he was also awesome in the 70s, when he was a Cardinal and the first player I really loved as a little kid, even at the end of his career.  I kinda broke my own rules, but oh well.)
Favorite 70s athlete: Jim Hart, QB St. Louis Cardinals
Favorite 70s band: Led Zeppelin
Favorite 70s singer: Bob Marley
Favorite 70s movie: "The Godfather"
Favorite 70s actor: Robert DeNiro
Favorite 70s TV show: "All in the Family"
Favorite 70s comic: Richard Pryor
Favorite 70s toy: Big Wheel
Favorite little known fact about the 70s: The years from 1977-1979, when my parents sort of got into disco, marked the only time period when my parents were remotely cool.

KT,

My parents were more into some of the disco-influence fashion than actually hitting the clubs themselves. But still, for them, pretty cool.

AK,
Favorite athletic... Jim Hart? What about Otis Anderson? I was a LAMS fan so I used to like Pat Haden, Wendell "Fumble" Tyler, Preston Dennard, and on defense Fred "Hunter" Dryer, Carl Ekern, and the YOUNGBLOODS.. Jack and Jim.

Favorite athletic though had to be in baseball and it was Steve Garvey... although I look back now and enjoyed the whole team from the mid-late 70's. Even guys like Von Joshua, Gary Thomason, Lee Lacy, Vic Davillio, Jay Johnstone and Darrell Thomas.

Andrew Kamenetzky

Rob,

O.J. Anderson's hey day was the during the 80's. But I was a big fan of him, for sure.
