Quick notes before the game

Hey y'all.  As you know, not much changes in a team's world in the 12 or so hours between an extra innings finish and a day game immediately following.  With that in mind, excuse the lack of depth in this pregame report.  The biggest news of the morning?  Still no AC in the Dodgers locker room.  Whereas last night they went with one of those Cool Zone misty fan things to try and bring down the temperature- the effect of which was to create a humid, pea soup Londonesque feel to the locker room as the Dodgers wrapped things up after Friday's loss.  Today, four giant portable AC units were lined up at the end of the clubhouse.  It was hard to tell if they had been activated, as it was pretty warm in there this morning.  Of course, it's about 6,000 degrees on the field, so perhaps they won't notice.

In other news, against a tough lefty in CC Sabathia, Joe Torre had given some brief thought to playing Russell Martin at third and moving Andy LaRoche to third, giving James Loney a breather, but given Loney's uberhot swinging of late (that's a phrase I probably could have constructed better), he left Russ behind the dish and is letting LaRoche play a little third.  Don't be surprised, with Blake DeWitt working through a June slump, to see LaRoche get a few more ABs in the coming days.

And by the way, LaRoche shaved what looked like a promising porn stache.  Disappointing.
