Let's move the "Think Blue" sign to Houston and set up shop

Because this city is bringing out a hell of a roll with these Dodgers, who racked another win within those confines.  This one was a 5-2 clip, featuring more of what we've seen during the time in Texas.  Strong pitching, this time from Chad Billingsley, now with a record over .500 after offering up eight frames of dominating stuff.  He would have seen all zilches in his score column, had Luis Maza - subbing for an apparently not too in-game injured Jeff Kent - not made an error that left Houston's door slightly ajar.  Strong hitting in the form of long balls from Andre Ethier and James Loney.   And a box score that would possibly convince Bill Plaschke that  the Blue have a concrete concept of what a winning formula makes.

Can the good vibes carry on the Bay Area?  Dare to dream, kids.  Dare to dream.

I am currently on a business trip and unable to watch the game today, but it was good to read about another Dodger win. However, the mood was spoiled when I got on the LA Times web site and saw that the Master of Idiocy, Bill Plaschke, had topped himself with yet another ridiculous diatribe against the Dodgers young players, particularly Matt Kemp. Lunatic Bill apparently wants the Dodgers to trade Kemp, or any other young player not named Blake DeWitt, to get players that "play the right way", whatever the hell that means. Ironically, DeWitt currently ranks 13th out of 14 National League 3rd basemen in offensive productivity. Kemp, on the other hand, is 5th among National League centerfielders and is tied with Loney for the team lead in RBI, along with being 2nd in stolen bases. Apparently, Plaschke likes the fact that DeWitt is from a small town, got off to a good start and came from nowhere. Unfortunately, DeWitt, after that good start, has only proven that he doesn't play baseball very well. Plaschke would have us trade the plyer that all opposing teams mention 1st in talks with the Dodgers (Kemp). Gee, Bill, do you think there's a reason teams like Boston and the Cubs are interested in Kemp? Oh yeah...HE CAN PLAY! I am begging my esteemed home town paper to please hire at least one columnist who writes well, has perspective, and understands the sports he covers. Just one, that's all I'm asking. One clue, Bill: Loney, Martin, Ethier, and Kemp are our MOST productive players. OK, Bill, end of sermon, you can now go and try to remove your lips from Jeff Kent's posterior.

Yes it can continue... I believe!!!!!!! ... maybe Conte can get some clear while he's there.

Shhh, nobody tell Bills that he is now the Ace of the staff. It might go to his head.

Can one of you guys smack Bill Plaschke upside the head and tell him to stick to covering the Lakers? How he gets paid to write about baseball, I'll never know.

It is so much more fun to be a cheerleader when the club is winning!

Geaux Blue!

BTW, Drop off Swingy while you are in the Bay Area...Thanks for the memories Sween, but you gotta go!

Even before his record evened out Bills was the ace of the staff. Dude has more K's than Santana.

Kemp leading off??? I know he has 15+ steals but don't we need him to knock in runs? (Though i guess i don't have a suggestion for the leadoff spot with Pierre and Furcal both out). I think Martin could also lead off if needed.

Plaschke is not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to Bruins basketball either!

Plaschke is right. The Dodgers of 2008 are unrecognizable. No core, no tradition anymore. They are like a cheap plastic foundation covering an old historic home. The Halos? They are about winning. Much like the Dodgers before Fox bought them and began the steady fall that continues.

The logical move now is not to bench Eithier but to send him to Las Vegas.
David

I do not need to see videos of Plashke ever!

Let's see if Andruw and Nomar can sprak us a little now that they appear healthy. Can Penny come back soon too?

Biff: please don't breed. If you think tradition or culture are why a team wins baseball games, you clearly have a very poor grasp or how the sport actually works.

Wasn't Biff the guy in Back to the Future?

Now I understand Swny problem. He was injured. What a standup guy. He kept playing because he knew we needed him.
David

David-- are you joking?

Its on days like this I wish we had the DH. It seems to often lead to disaster when pitchers spend an inning running the bases.
David

Looks like Aj 's layoff hasn't hurt him. He looks just as sharp as ever.
David

Andruw Jones 4 k's and counting. Go back to Vegas and hit the buffet tables.

I like the one at the Rio .
David

Can AJ beat Repkos debut and K 5 times?
david

ndrw jns is no better than swn... it's a shame, he actually had a couple good rehab starts here in Vegas.

FLEECE!

The New A Jones is now 0-4 4 K 1 foul tip and ,making the same mechanical mistake his back leg is collapsing .. maybe he needs more rehab swings say down to Jax since that is now the standard to drop a guy two levels. Maybe they operated on the wrong knee.

Investment watch with Schmidt only lasting 2.1 last night in Vegas and go shelled that means for $33Million in 24 HOUrs there investment tallied 4 K AB and 2.1 innings

Is Broxton next on th DL?
David

Can we put Conte on the DL?

Plaschke is a good compus for the Dodgers; they just need to head in the opposite direction he is pointing at and they will find their way back to contention. Last time I checked the "anti-Angels" had won 4 in a row, and 6 out of 10. Injuries, and not "not playing Angels" baseball is what has decimated this team, bonehead!

The next thing i see coming after the normal day in FAJ is that he had surgery in the good knee... and will need surgery again....season ending
