BK has a history of cursing Hong-Chih Kuo by praising him
And apparently, I have that power over Cory Wade. Two hours barely pass upon my dedicating a post to his underrated work this season, dude lands on the 15-day DL (retroactive to last Saturday) with shoulder inflammation. Joining him will be Brad Penny, with the same time frame and diagnosis. No shocker, he didn't look particularly "right" during last night's shelling.
They'll be replaced by familiar southpaw Eric Stults and veteran righty Tanyon Sturtze, who I believe is a distant relative of Keyser Soze.

Nice going AK... Can you say something nice about Coletti too??!!

Damn you both for jinxing Wade. I can't hold you responsible for Penny, however.
Could one of you write a floury elegy to Mark Sweeney, and soon. Please!!! It seems he's invulnerable to all manner of sucking, and nothing else will excise him from the rear end of the Dodger bench.

Stults and Sturtze? Are they distant cousins or what?

"Manny Ramirez had his dreadlocks trimmed by an inch or so today, fulfilling Torre's wish that he clean up his look.
"If I come back next year, it'll be shorter," Ramirez said.
Torre said he was satisfied.
"I think he was within the rules of 'cleaning it up a little bit,' " Torre said."
LOL! What a comprimise. It makes sense. Why should Manny cut his hair if the Dodgers are only going to keep him for 2 months. It took him 4 years to grow it.
That's a 4 year investment into himself and to have to cut for a team that might only keep him for 2 months doesn't make sense.

AK,
I was listening to Hacksaw Hamilton on my way home trying to hear the latest Solo Syncronized Olympic News, and Hamilton said that, in addition to Penny and Wade hitting the DL, the Dodgers had put in a waiver wire claim on Ronnie Belliard of the Washington Nationals. It will be interesting to see if anything transpires.
Lee Hamilton then went on to say "Dammit! Why can't I get a Badmitton fan from El Cajon to call into my Ladies Line?!? I put all these World Team Tennis and Skeet Shooting topics on the table, and not one person from Simi Valley has a response?!? Glendora, react!!!"

That, sir, would be why you're always welcome at Blue Notes. Well played.
I hadn't heard about Belliard, but BK is at the park, so he may have some info.

I'd guess that the waiver claim on Belliard is more of an attempt to block him from going to the DBacks than anything else. The Dodgers don't need him, but they can block a deal by just putting in a claim. The only risk is that the Nats could decide not to revoke the waivers, thus the Dodgers would get him at no cost except his salary. The DBacks are in need of some semblance of offensive production from 2nd base with Orlando Hudson shelved for the rest of the season.
