Lineups/Game Notes
Joe Torre gave James Loney and Blake DeWitt the night off due to their lefthandedness, a trait oft exploited by Bucs hurler Zach Duke. This led to a start for Nomar- whose legs are growing more lifelike to Torre- at first and... not a typo... Pablo Ozuna at second, who's being evaluated by his manager of his feasibility as a postseason roster "option."
Manny, however, is in the lineup, having told Torre a breather wasn't necessary.
In health news, Hong-Chih Kuo
was better today, will remained monitored while warming him up and his injury history won't go ignored. It's
not in the area where the operations were, so that's a good thing. They're waiting one more day and he'll throw tomorrow. Raffy
Furcal did really well yesterday with his running and will run again today. Takashi Saito is still on track for an appearance tomorrow.
In
regards to hitting coach Don Mattingly's effect, Torre thinks the key is him trying to simplify things, along with a tirelessness.

Oh please Ozuna hit 7 homers tonight and make the world forget Kent.

Isn't winning fun? Instead of being frustrated by the Dodgers, we can turn to creativity with the K-Bros contest (not to be confused with the contest on Seinfeld).

LH-hitting DeWitt and Loney are still better bets than RH-hitting Ozuna and Nomore. And here I thought Torre understood the implications of a playoff run.

www.PabloOzunaMania.com !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Benzo, it's not too late for us to cash in on grabbing the domain name rights for that little ditty. Sure beats the heck out of making an investment in Washington Mutual stock right now!

Broxton like winning.
But Broxton can't find Nomar. He's always in a different place. First base today. Third base yesterday. Shortstop day before.
Broxton buy Nomar red and white striped hat so he can find him next to Waldo.

Reading the complaints and whines on the blog was fun but winning beats whining any day. Go Dodgers.

Will someone please inform Torre he is in a f*&$%ing pennant race!
That little Pablo Ozuna error (which wouldnt be made by DeWitt) might cost an important game.

Has there been a single more mismanaged Dodger game this year?
Posted by: WBB | September 17, 2008 at 06:40 PM
NOTE TO WBB:
Where is Nomar tonight?
Larry Bowa was busy sending him to the hospital wiith a blown knee after a botched "stop-no go. no stop" call.
Later Larry (the worlds most inept 3rd base coach, (btw) completed his trifecta by pulling the same stunt with Ozuna, (who scored despite Bowa' inanity):
but he was able to get Berroa thrown out at third.
He needs a new job!

I cannot believe they let this game get so bad! Why didn't Torre take out the pitcher earlier????

The L tonight should be after Torre's name.
