A sneak peek...

Sicover_101308_national_manny_3 ... at the newest Sports Illustrated cover about to hit stands.  Thought y'all might approve of their dude spotlighted in a piece by Tom Verducci.  FYI.  It's the first time The Dreadlocked One has received this honor in Blue.

Thanks to Sports Illustrated Director of Communications Kelli Rafferty for the heads up.  For those without a subscription or who just get annoyed by those lurkers who hang out at the your local newsstand, look for the piece on sportsillustrated.cnn.com.

Even my inside track and connections, still no advance word as to whether the name "Teddy KGB" or the phrase "pay that man his money" pops up.

Oh great, first the media jinx, and now the SI cover jinx.

VA Blueblood

Somewhere, seated on a throne of the purest gold, Scott Boras is doing his best Mr. Burns impression... "Excellent..."

DBrim,

As is my understanding, the SI jinx only holds when it coincides with a "prediction" of sorts. Thus, I think the Dodgers are cool.

That being said, if you get wind of any predictions contained in the story, let me know and I'll just predict the Phillies advancing. That seems to do the Blue right every time. Haha

The cover article is up on the SI.com site:

There's nothing particularly groundbreaking or new, except for the fact that the length of Manny's hair was apparently negotiated by Scott Bora$$$ [!!!]. Hee.

I believe you--the Kamenetzky brothers--may be the "bloggers" referred to in this article.

(Is "Tim McCarver is still an asshat" really a news story?)

Steve

Is this out yet in newstands?
